IMG Academy Launches Swimming Program, New Aquatic Center
IMG Academy is getting into the swimming game, its 12th sports program, with the launch of IMG Academy Swimming. It seeks to make Bradenton, Fla., a destination for top swimmers in the way it is in other sports.
IMG’s investment in swimming is, “one of the largest in IMG Academy’s history.” It’s the 12th sport in its portfolio and the third added in 2025, with wrestling and boys volleyball.
The program will be based at a new Aquatic Center, a 10-lane, 54-meter pool at a 9,345-square-foot facility. Ground will be broken on the pool on Nov. 20, with an estimated open day of March 2027. IMG is beginning the process of hiring a leader of the swimming program.
