It’s no secret that incoming Michigan State basketball transfer Trey Fort has some big shoes to fill. As the expected starting shooting guard, the former Samford guard will need to try to fill in, along with Kur Teng, for three different Spartans who had played that position last year, including one who is now in the NBA.
Well, Fort has certainly done a good job of making a first impression for MSU fans. While the Moneyball Pro-Am results need to be taken with a grain of salt, considering the nature of the competition and the level of defense that is sometimes being played, Fort still dropped 58 points on Thursday night, which was still an impressive feat.

Ironically, it was Jaxon Kohler’s 58 point game in last year’s Moneyball Pro-Am that portended his big uptick in production this season. So, while Moneyball stats can be a little inflated offensively, they can still show us some of what these guys can do, and it looks like Trey Fort can score the basketball.
