India National Cricket Team and Pakistan National Cricket Team players were not involved in the customary post-match handshakes after the end of their Super Four clash.
The second high-octane game of the Asia Cup 2025 between arch-rivals India and Pakistan was hosted by the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday, September 14.
Suryakumar Yadav totally ignored Salman Agha at the toss
At the toss, the India skipper, Suryakumar Yadav, totally ignored his Pakistani counterpart, Salman Agha. Suryakumar didn’t even look at Salman when the two came out in the middle for the toss.
Your daily dose of cricket!
After Ravi Shastri introduced both the captains and the match referee, Andy Pycroft, Suryakumar flipped the coin, and Salman was unable to call it right.
The Indian skipper had a good chat with Ravi Shastri, where he talked about the change in India’s team combination and revealed about the good mood in the camp.
After the conversation, he turned around and didn’t even look at Salman Agha, who approached towards Ravi Shastri for a chat. The point to be noted here is that the customary handshakes between the captains of the two teams are not mandatory.
India again destroyed Pakistan and refused handshakes
Winning the toss and opting to bowl first in the match, India made a stunning comeback after the poor start and restricted Pakistan to 171/5.
Shivam Dube was the pick of the bowlers for India as he bagged two wickets, while Hardik Pandya and Kuldeep Yadav also got one wicket each.
Chasing the target, Abhishek Sharma (74) and Shubman Gill (47) absolutely demolished Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf, and other bowlers. After they got out, Tilak Varma and other batters stepped up to finish off the match in 18.5 overs.
India registered a dominant 6-wicket victory and once again left the entire Pakistan nation embarrassed by not shaking hands with the players. Tilak Varma and Hardik Pandya straightaway walked off the ground after making India proud and leaving Pakistan in the dust.

PCB got furious after the last game’s humiliation against India
Things got chaotic at the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) after they faced utter humiliation in the Asia Cup 2025 group stage match against arch-rivals India.
India registered a dominant 7-wicket victory in the group stage match and refused to shake hands with the Salman Agha & Co.
This left Pakistan embarrassed, and PCB filed an official complaint with the ICC, putting the entire blame on match referee Andy Pycroft for the no-handshake row.
PCB demanded the removal of Andy Pycroft as a match referee from the Asia Cup 2025 or even for the remainder of the matches involving Pakistan, but ICC bluntly rejected the demand. Pakistan even threatened to boycott the Asia Cup, but Andy Pycroft remained the match referee for their matches.
