India Playing XI vs South Africa- 2nd ODI, South Africa Tour of India 2025:

Openers: Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal

India would look to replicate a similar performance with the bat that they delivered in the first ODI against South Africa when the two teams go head-to-head against each other in the second game in Raipur.

The KL Rahul-led side showed the batting prowess it has to the fullest by posting a total of 349 runs on the board on a good batting wicket in Ranchi, and would hope to do more of the same in the upcoming match

The strong batting show that the Men in Blue put on in the previous match was led by two most experienced batters in the team, former captain Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.

While Rohi made full use of the life given to him early in the innings by scoring a half-century after a slow start, Virat took the aggressive option throughout the innings and scored 135 runs.

The team management would hope for Rohit to go on and score abhunred if he gets off to a start in the second ODI as well.

The only player among the top three that the team management would be slightly concerned about would be Yashasvi Jaiswal, who will look to play a match-winning knock in the third match of his ODI career.

Middle-order batsmen and all-rounders: Virat Kohli, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Washington Sundar, KL Rahul (c/wk), Ravindra Jadeja

As far as India’s middle order is concerned, it seems to be too reliant on the likes of Virat Kohli and KL Rahul, as it underwent a mini-collapse with Ruturaj Gaikwad and Washington Sundar not being able to rotate strike.

Although Ruturaj Gaikwad and Washington Sundar’s innings didn’t cost India the game as the experienced duo of KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja steadied the ship, both batters will be under a bit of pressure in Raipur.

The team is expected to stick to the same batting order for the second ODI as well, with Rahul batting at number six and Ravindra Jadeja coming in at number seven.

The onus will be on the top five batters to score the bulk of the runs for the team in the second match as well.

Bowlers: Harshit Rana, Kuldeep Yadav, Arshdeep Singh, Prasidh Krishna

As far as the bowling attack is concerned, it is expected to comprise the same personnel that featured in the last game, with Harshit Rana and Arshdeep Singh taking the new ball.

The duo took the new ball from either end in the previous match as well and were lethal, especially Harshit Rana, who picked up two wickets in the first over of his spell.

Arshdeep and Harshit will be supported by Prasidh Krishna, who was also effective in Ranchi with his hit-the-deck bowling and would be banked upon to do the same in Raipur.

The spin bowling department of India will be handled by Kuldeep Yadav, who bowled the team to victory in the first match with a timely four-for, with Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar being the other two spinners.
