Indiana Fever add another name to injury list, divulge roster plans

by

In an unexpected addition to Indiana’s pregame injury report on Friday night for their clash against league-leading Minnesota, forward Chloe Bibby has been scratched and is unavailable.

Per Fever head coach Stephanie White, the sharp-shooting Australian has been experiencing left knee soreness and she felt something during pregame. As a precautionary measure, the Fever opted to hold Bibby out.

While the left knee injury does not appear to be significant, the Fever will be down to just nine healthy players as Bibby’s absence further limits Indiana’s lineup. Prior to the Bibby news, Indiana was already down to just 10 active players following guard Sophie Cunningham’s season-ending MCL tear.

Fever chief operating officer and general manager Amber Cox said before the game that Indiana is planning to sign a wing after tonight’s game. Per WNBA rules, Cunningham needs to have missed at least one game before the Fever can utilize a hardship waiver.

Bibby joins guard Caitlin Clark as inactive for Friday’s game, along with the season-ending injuries to guards Sydney Colson and Aari McDonald.

For Clark, it marks the 14th straight game that Clark has missed with her right groin injury. Clark’s Friday absence is now her 23rd regular season game missed due to injury in 2025 and her 24th game overall, including the WNBA Commissioner’s Cup final.
