Now playing in Turkey, Powers will return to seek a WNBA contract for 2026.
Aerial Powers made a significant impact on the Indiana Fever after signing as a mid-season recruit. Indiana first signed the 5-foot-11 guard on a seven-day hardship contract after season-ending injuries to Sydney Colson and Aari McDonald. Powers quickly proved that she deserved a spot on the roster, which ultimately led to a rest-of-season deal for the 31-year-old veteran.
Powers played eight games for Indiana in the regular season, averaging 9.0 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 20.0 minutes per game. Her contributions, however, go far beyond the box score, with Powers serving as a jolt of energy for the team both on the bench and on the court.

Much like the majority of her Fever teammates, Powers has had to leave Indiana for the WNBA offseason. It’s common practice for players to play abroad in between seasons, and this was the case again for Powers, who has vast experience playing overseas throughout her career as a professional basketball player.
Before signing with the Fever this year, Powers has had stints in South Korea, Turkey and China. Right now, she’s returned to the Turkish Super League, albeit with a different team.

Powers suited up for Fenerbahçe S.K. during the 2017-18 season. She’s now back in Turkey after signing with Çanakkale Belediyespor, joining Fever teammate Shey Peddy. The former Michigan State Spartans standout took to social media on Saturday to share an update on her new job outside the WNBA.
“New threads. Same mission🥰,” Powers posted on Instagram, sharing a video of herself in her new uniform.
Powers will now play in the Turkish Super League for the next few months. She will then return to the United States after her latest stint abroad with the objective of signing a new contract for the upcoming 2026 WNBA season.

Powers is going to be an unrestricted free agent now that her contract with the Fever has come to an end.
