Kelsey Mitchell’s 2025 season is one of the greatest ever for an Indiana Fever player. In her eighth WNBA season, Mitchell became the first Fever player to average 20+ points per game over a full season; she made her third successive All-Star team and was named first-team All-WNBA for leading the injury-plagued Fever to the WNBA semifinals.

Mitchell’s free agency looms large over Indiana’s offseason. Head coach Stephanie White has indicated that re-signing Mitchell is the Fever’s top priority, a sentiment that general manager Amber Cox shared during the team’s exit interviews last month. Mitchell turned 30 on Wednesday, but it is more than possible her best days are ahead of her.

The same goes for the Fever, who played without star point guard Caitlin Clark for most of the 2025 season and relied extensively on Mitchell and Aliyah Boston to keep them afloat. Mitchell’s legs finally gave out in Game 5 of the semifinals against the Las Vegas Aces, but her return to health has Indiana celebrating.

Fever relish Mitchell’s Unrivaled opportunity

The Fever on Friday published an Instagram post recognizing Mitchell, Boston, Lexie Hull, Aari McDonald and Makayla Timpson for their imminent participation in the offseason Unrivaled league, which tips off in Miami on Jan. 5.
