The 2025 WNBA season for the Indiana Fever was an interesting one.
Despite season-ending injuries to Caitlin Clark, Sydney Colson, Aari McDonald, Chloe Bibby and Sophie Cunningham, the Fever made the playoffs.

Indiana finished with a 24-20 record and fell just short of the WNBA Finals after a Game 5 loss to the Las Vegas Aces.
During the season, the Fever unexpectedly saw DeWanna Bonner request to leave the team, and the veteran signed with the Phoenix Mercury.
On Tuesday, Bonner posted some photos on her Instagram page, with several of them being of her in a Mercury jersey.
“This year tested me, stretched me, and reminded me what it means to stand tall as a woman, an athlete, and a force in my own right. I kept my faith first, loved hard, stayed grounded in my craft, and kept showing up even when it wasn’t easy,” part of Bonner’s caption read.

Several WNBA stars reacted, including her old Fever teammate Natasha Howard.
“DB I’ve always looked up to you and admire you as a person and player! I’m so proud of you! You’ve set records I pray I get to see in my career. Thank you for always pouring in me on and off the court. Keep being the bright light you are ♥️ tash.”
Fever star Lexie Hull also admitted that they were “never given an explanation” as to why Bonner left the team, but Howard showed nothing but support for the veteran.

Bonner played in 24 regular-season games for the Mercury and 11 postseason games. However, the Phoenix season ended in a four-game sweep against the Aces in the WNBA Finals.
