BLOOMINGTON — Indiana football’s 30-20 win over Oregon popped a big rating for CBS Sports.
The much anticipated top-10 matchup was the network’s most-watched Week 7 game since a 2022 matchup featuring Alabama and Tennessee. The broadcast averaged 5.59 million viewers — up 31% from last year’s game between Penn State and USC — and peaked with 8.36 million viewers, per Nielsen Big Data + Panel data.

It was the fourth-highest rated game of the weekend behind a trio of SEC matchups that aired on ABC. Oklahoma and Texas averaged 8.7 million viewers, Alabama and Missouri averaged 7.0 million viewers and Georgia and Auburn averaged 6.7 million viewers. The Big Noon Saturday game between Ohio State and Illinois on Fox averaged 5.27 million viewers.

The highest rated game between Big Ten opponents this year was Oregon’s Week 5 overtime win over Penn State on NBC and Peacock, a game that averaged 8.5 million viewers.
