Just like the AP Top 25 rankings, the Iowa Hawkeyes continue to pound on the door of another outlet’s poll. The newest US LBM Coaches Poll sees the Hawkeyes sitting as the team receiving the most votes without being ranked, essentially labeling them as the No. 26 team in the country.
While these two polls see Iowa on the outside looking in, the College Football Playoff rankings are giving the Hawkeyes respect, ranking them No. 23 in the nation.

The Hawkeyes have one more chance this year to enter every poll with a matchup against the Vanderbilt Commodores in the ReliaQuest Bowl, where Iowa has opened as small underdogs. Should Iowa win that matchup against a team that was in contention for the College Football Playoff, the Hawkeyes will end the year 9-4 and earn themselves a spot among each poll at the conclusion of this season.
