Iowa football QB Mark Gronowski named East-West Shrine Bowl MVP

by

The South Dakota State Jackrabbits saw it. The Iowa Hawkeyes saw it. And now the East-West Shrine Bowl has seen it. Former South Dakota State and Iowa quarterback Mark Gronowski is a natural-born winner and flashed in this game, standing above many others.

Gronowski, who excelled all week at practice in front of NFL scouts, took that same success to the field and earned some major recognition in this game. Mark Gronowski earned honors by being named the 2026 East-West Shrine Bowl Offensive MVP for his play.

He showed poise in the pocket, just enough elusiveness to avoid the rush, as he so often did at Iowa, and even got in the mix, making the block on a goal-line run play that sprung his team for a touchdown.
