Iowa football rival QB Dylan Raiola expected to enter transfer portal

The NCAA transfer portal has not officially opened yet, but big names are already being reported to be exploring potential new homes. The latest name to be linked to entering the transfer portal belongs to one of the Iowa Hawkeyes’ biggest rivals, the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

It has been reported by Pete Nakos of On3 that Nebraska Cornhuskers quarterback Dylan Raiola is expected to enter the NCAA transfer portal and explore new opportunities. The move comes are Raiola has spent the last two years at Nebraska. This season ended early for Raiola as he suffered a leg injury midseason that sidelined him for the remainder of the year.

While at Nebraska, Raiola started 22 games for the Cornhuskers and owns a 13-9 overall record. In his collegiate career, he has thrown for 4,819 yards, 31 touchdowns, and 17 interceptions, while completing 69.1% of his passes.

Dylan Raiola played the Iowa Hawkeyes just once in the Heroes Trophy Game, and it came during the 2024 season. He was 22-32 for 190 yards and had a fumble late in the game that set the Hawkeyes up for a game-winning kick to steal a 13-10 victory.

Coming out of Buford High School in Buford, Georgia, Dylan Raiola was a five-star recruit ranked as the No. 2 quarterback and No. 7 overall player in the class of 2024, per 247Sports. He held a bevy of offers from some of college football’s biggest programs, such as Georgia, Alabama, Miami, Michigan, Oregon, Penn State, Texas, USC, Notre Dame, and others.
