Iowa women’s basketball (13-2, 4-0 Big Ten) saw no movement in its ranking in the newest USA TODAY Sports women’s basketball coaches poll, which was released on Tuesday, Jan. 6.
While the Hawkeyes were 2-0 on the week, with a home win over then-No. 25 Nebraska and a scrappy road victory against Northwestern, the coaches did not view Iowa’s two Big Ten victories as evidence to elevate the program in this week’s rankings. As a result, the Hawkeyes remain at No. 14.

Despite the lack of movement in this week’s poll, the Hawkeyes will have another opportunity to prove themselves worthy of an increase with their upcoming date at Indiana (11-5, 0-4 Big Ten) on Jan. 11.
The Big Ten is once again well represented in the latest Coaches Poll rankings. UCLA is ranked No. 4, Maryland No. 8, Michigan No. 9, Michigan State No. 15, Ohio State No. 19, USC No. 21, and Washington No. 23.
Nebraska is the lone program in this week’s poll to drop from the top 25, where they now reside in the receiving votes category with 24 points alongside Illinois’ five points and Oregon’s three points.
