For the second season in a row, the Iowa women’s basketball team reached into the transfer portal in search of a guard. And for the second season in a row, it seems that they’ve struck gold.
Lucy Olsen came in last season from Villanova and was a big contributor for the Hawkeyes. Olsen’s senior season with Iowa led to her being drafted by the Washington Mystics. And now this season, Iowa head women’s basketball coach Jan Jensen went into the transfer portal and got another guard, albeit one in a different situation than Olsen.

Chazadi ‘Chit-Chat’ Wright transferred into the program after just one season at Georgia Tech, where she appeared in all 33 games, making 12 starts. Wright averaged 7.2 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game with the Yellow Jackets last season.
The 5-foot-4 sophomore guard was a four-star recruit out of Wesleyan School in Atlanta, Ga., and will have three years of eligibility left to play with at Iowa.
Iowa women’s basketball team posted ‘A chit chat with Chit-Chat.’ It was an opportunity for the fans to learn more about their newest transfer guard. It’s safe to assume that Wright will quickly win over the fan base following this introduction video.
Wright will be a big piece for the Hawkeyes in 2025-26, as they look to continue their ascent into one of the elite women’s college basketball programs in the country. They have the players in place to have a huge season, and Wright will no doubt be a big part of that. And it seems like her energy and drive will fit in perfectly with this Iowa women’s basketball program.
