Ever since music icon Taylor Swift and NFL superstar Travis Kelce made their relationship official, people have been wondering what’s next for the couple.
They got their answer on Tuesday morning when Swift took to Instagram to announce that she and Kelce are now engaged and will be getting married. The news broke the internet, with over 590,000 posts on X currently about it, making it the biggest trending story of the day.
And it even drew a sweet reaction post from the Iowa women’s basketball team.
Swift’s connection to the Hawkeyes is mainly through Caitlin Clark, who attended a Kansas City Chiefs game with Swift in her private box last season and has been a vocal fan of her music and the Chiefs for years. That’s led to a lot of love and adoration between Swift and the Iowa women’s basketball program that Clark helped bring to the national level.
The Hawkeyes took to X on Tuesday following the engagement announcement, giving their official reaction to Swift and Kelce’s big announcement.
It’s a sweet and genuine reaction from the women’s basketball program to one of the biggest pop culture news stories of the year. There is a strong connection to Swift and her relationship with Kelce on this team.
Now that Swift has said yes, the only question that remains is whether or not Clark gets an invitation to the wedding. We’ll have to wait and see to find the answer to that.
