After two dominant wins over Southern (86-51) and Evansville (119-43) to open the 2025-26 campaign, Iowa women’s basketball (2-0) has retained its positioning in the Week 2 release of the AP Top 25 Women’s College Basketball Poll.
In the newest release on Monday morning, the Hawkeyes earned 155 points from AP voters, enough to hold its original No. 21 spot.

Along with Iowa, the Big Ten has nine other programs listed in and outside of the Top 25, which includes No. 3 UCLA (2-0), No. 8 USC (2-0), No. 9 Maryland (3-0), No. 13 Michigan (2-0), No. 24 Michigan State (2-0), No. 25 Washington (1-0), along with Ohio State (27 points), Minnesota (10 points), and Nebraska (2 points) receiving votes.

Of those listed above, the Trojans made the largest jump from Weeks 1 and 2 by moving up 10 spots, while both the Wolverines and Spartans tied for the largest dip by dropping one slot.
The lone Big Ten representative from Week 1’s poll to completely drop out of consideration was Illinois, which received 1 vote outside the initial Top 25 rankings.

The Hawkeyes will have an opportunity to move up in the poll with a home game against Drake (Nov. 13) and a road trip to Northern Iowa (Nov. 16) occurring over the Week 3 period.
