After Iowa women’s basketball (10-1, 1-0 Big Ten) split its two matchups last week, with a close 74-69 defeat at Iowa State and a 102-68 blowout victory over Lindenwood, the Hawkeyes‘ ranking didn’t change in the latest USA TODAY Sports women’s basketball coaches poll.
Iowa remains the nation’s No. 12 team in the latest Coaches Poll rankings after earning 395 points from the voters.

There are eight other Big Ten programs ranked inside the latest Coaches Poll, including No. 4 UCLA, No. 6 Maryland, No. 9 Michigan, No. 19 USC, No. 21 Ohio State, No. 22 Washington, No. 23 Michigan State, and No. 25 Nebraska. Oregon is also receiving votes.
Of the nine ranked Big Ten programs this week, nobody rose more than one spot. However, Michigan was leapt in the rankings by Oklahoma despite the Wolverines beating Akron, 85-59, and USC fell two spots after getting blown out at home against No. 1 UConn, 79-51.
Iowa plays just one game this week, but it happens to be one of the most high-profile matchups on the Week 7 schedule. The Hawkeyes clash against aforementioned and top-ranked UConn (10-0) in the Shark Beauty Women’s Champions Classic at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Saturday, Dec. 20 at 12:30 p.m. CT on Fox.
