Iowa (10-1, 1-0 Big Ten) suffered its first loss of the season last week in a nail-biter in Ames against rival Iowa State, 74-69.
But, AP Top 25 voters didn’t punish the Hawkeyes for that loss. Iowa stayed put at No. 11 nationally in the latest edition of the AP Top 25 Women’s College Basketball Poll. The Hawkeyes earned 430 points from AP Top 25 voters.

Iowa State didn’t jump either. The Cyclones are still at No. 10 in the rankings following their win over Iowa. In the top 11 of the poll, the only change was Oklahoma jumping a spot over TCU. The Sooners beat then-No. 23 Oklahoma State over the weekend in Bedlam, 92-70.
The Big Ten is once again well represented in the latest AP Top 25 rankings. UCLA is ranked No. 4, Michigan No. 6, Maryland No. 7, USC No. 19, Ohio State No. 21, Washington No. 22, Nebraska No. 23 and Michigan State No. 24. Illinois also received one point in the receiving votes category.
Despite trailing Iowa State by as many as 17 points in the final minute of the third quarter, Iowa rallied back and closed to within three points on four different occasions in the game’s final four minutes and change. Sophomore guard Chit-Chat Wright led the way for the Hawkeyes with a team-high 21 points on 7-of-14 shooting against the Cyclones.
Then, in a 102-68 bounce-back blowout of Lindenwood on Saturday, senior forward Hannah Stuelke erupted for 31 points.
