NYCFC striker Alsonso Martínez is making a name for himself in North America, racking up the goals at a frantic rate as of late.

The Costa Rican is on fire in the month of July, scoring five goals and an assist in his last four games including a hat-trick against FC Dallas.

Against Liga MX champions Toluca this evening, he opened the scoring in style to remain red-hot in front of goal.

Martínez has 12 goals in 21 MLS games this season, but tends to score in bunches. If his form continues through the summer he certainly could launch himself into the Golden Boot conversation.
