Islam Makhachev doesn’t see a trip to Georgia being enough to help Ian Machado Garry.
Machado Garry (17-1 MMA, 10-1 UFC) is currently in Georgia to train his wrestling in preparation for a potential title fight against UFC welterweight champion Makhachev (28-1 MMA, 17-1 UFC).

Makhachev warns him that a couple of months isn’t enough to close the gap between their wrestling.
“In Georgia, he’ll probably improve in some areas,” Makhachev said in a translated interview with Ushatayka. “I’ve been wrestling my whole life, not just two-three months, so I don’t care about that anymore. Throughout my recent fights, someone brings someone into their camps. They bring in some wrestlers or whatever. (Charles) Oliveira brought in some guy from the Iranian national team. Zero effect, so don’t waste your time.”
Makhachev captured the welterweight title by dominating Jack Della Maddalena at UFC 322. Makhachev completed all four of his takedown attempts and had over 19 minutes of control time.
