Jack Draper has redesigned his coaching team.

Indian Wells champion Draper has split with long-time coach James Trotman, who guided the British left-hander to the BNP Paribas Open championship in March.

World No. 9 Draper already announced his hiring of ex-Andy Murray coach Jamie Delgado for the 2026 season, but expressed hope Trotman would remain part of the coaching team.

Trotman told BBC’s Russell Fuller he opted out of Draper’s team after four years together in order to spend more time at home with his family.

“I’ve made the decision that four years has been a great run,” Trotman told BBC Sport. “I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it, but it was getting increasingly difficult for me juggling the demands Jack deserves as the player that he is – and also being a father and a husband.

“I need to start to get those energy levels back up and have a little bit more normality: watch my son play football on a Sunday, go on some family holidays, have a bit more of a normal life.”

Despite the split, Trotman and Draper have been training together over the last week, BBC Sport reports, as the 23-year-old Briton begins his planned comeback from the left shoulder issue that forced him to pull out of the US Open. Draper conceded a walkover to Zizou Bergs before their scheduled US Open second-round clash in August and has not played since his US Open first-round win over Federico Gomez.
