Jack Edwards has stunned one and all with his remarkable fielding in the Big Bash League 2025-26 (BBL 2025-26) Final between the Sydney Sixers and the Perth Scorchers at the Perth Stadium in Perth.
In the 9th over of the Perth Scorchers’ chase, the Sydney Sixers senior fast bowler Mitchell Starc bowled a full ball outside the off stump to Finn Allen. The New Zealander went for a strong drive but did not keep the shot low. The ball went fast towards the extra-cover area.

Jack Edwards reacted instantly, as he dove to his right, stretched his hand in the air, and took an unbelievable catch while he was still in the air. The ball was travelling very fast, but Edwards timed his jump perfectly and held on as Allen walked back to the dugout after scoring 36 runs from 22 balls.

Even though this wicket came a little late for the Sixers, the catch taken by Edwards was absolutely amazing, which is certainly one of the best catches of the Big Bash League.
Perth Scorchers clinch sixth BBL title as Sydney Sixers face crushing defeat
Meanwhile, the Sydney Sixers suffered a heartbreaking defeat of six wickets in the final on Sunday in Perth. The Perth Scorchers have once again shown why they are the most successful team in Big Bash League history as they added another trophy to their cabinet.
It was the sixth BBL title for the Perth Scorchers, and that makes them the most successful and most consistent team the league has ever had. Well, the summit clash was completely dominated by the Perth Scorchers from the start at the Optus Stadium. After winning the toss, they invited the Sixers to bat first, and this decision worked perfectly for them.

Jhye Richardson and David Payne were outstanding, picking up three wickets each, as the Sixers struggled badly and could only manage 132 runs in their 20 overs. Mahli Beardman also scalped two wickets with no Sixers batter even able to manage 25 runs against the Scorchers.
Finn Allen, Mitchell Marsh and Josh Inglis finish the job with ease
When Perth came out to bat to chase the paltry target, their openers attacked from the start and did not allow the pressure to build. Finn Allen finished the tournament as the highest run-scorer after playing a brilliant knock of 36 runs off 22 balls, while Mitchell Marsh played a crucial knock of 44 runs when his team needed him the most against the Sixers.
Josh Inglis also contributed 29 runs in the successful chase in the BBL 15 Final. The pitch, which looked difficult for batting in the first innings, became easier to bat on later because of rain, and Perth used those conditions smartly. They batted with confidence and finished the match inside 18 overs with six wickets in their hand against the Sixers.
After winning the trophy, Marsh said, “A sixth title for this club—it’s special. We are incredibly fortunate to have a group of players who’ve pretty much grown up together. That cohesion and connection is something we really pride ourselves on.”
