Though the Brewers have been riding high of late, MLB’s best team will have to try to keep it going without their rookie sensation for a while, as fireballing right-hander Jacob Misiorowski was placed on the 15-day injured list on Sunday, retroactive to Thursday, with a left tibia contusion.
Right-hander Logan Henderson was recalled from Triple-A Nashville to start in Misiorowski’s place against the Nationals on Sunday.
Misiorowski was hit on the left shin by a comebacker from Seiya Suzuki on Monday in the first inning of Milwaukee’s 8-4 victory over the Cubs. He stayed in the game and ended up pitching four innings, allowing two earned runs and striking out seven.
Misiorowski, 23, is 4-1 with a 2.70 ERA in seven starts and was named to the National League All-Star team.
Henderson, the Brewers’ No. 5 prospect, has made four starts for Milwaukee this season, going 3-0 with a 1.71 ERA.
