MIAMI – Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua, one of the unlikeliest matchups in boxing history, officially became official after both men stepped on the scale Thursday.
Given the size difference, Joshua was contractually obligated to weigh in no heavier than 245 pounds for the heavyweight bout. After a long wait during the weigh-in window, he did just that and registered 243.4. That’s cutting weight for Joshua, who typically weighs in above 250.

Paul weighed in at 216, significantly heavier than his cruiserweight limit of 200. It was the second heaviest Paul has weighed in for a fight after he notched 227.2 for his November 2024 fight with Mike Tyson.
Paul vs. Joshua headlines a boxing event that takes place Friday at Kaseya Center and streams on Netflix.

With concerns of Paul putting himself in danger, the fight has drawn intense scrutiny given the circumstances: Paul, a YouTuber turned professional boxer, fighting Joshua, a two-time unified heavyweight champion and Olympic gold medalist with a massive size advantage and more than double the experience.
