Jaland Lowe listed in ranking of the most impactful college basketball transfers

by

We are now only a few days away from the Kentucky Wildcats taking the floor for their annual pro day, as Mark Pope and his staff are getting their team prepped for Big Blue Madness and their opening exhibition against Purdue.

With an almost entirely new roster, there are a lot of new names for the fanbase to learn as we head into the new year. One player that most of the BBN should already be familiar with is Pittsburgh transfer, Jaland Lowe.

It has been talked about a lot this summer, but this team will seemingly go as far as Lowe can help lead them. Early reports indicate that he is exceeding those expectations and more. That is why seeing his name appear on a top-25 impact transfer list should only get the fan base even more excited.

Jamie Shaw of On3 put out an article naming the 25 transfers that are poised to shape the 2025-26 college basketball season.

Here is what he had to say about Lowe;

“Year one of Mark Pope at Kentucky saw the Wildcats go 24-12 and finished 12th in the final AP Poll. Even while returning one starter from that team (Otega Oweh), many are still viewing Kentucky as a top-10-type team heading into this season. Enter Jaland Lowe, the Pittsburgh transfer. Lowe took the reins for the Panthers last season, after seeing backcourt mate Bub Carrington taken in the lottery, and he had some moments. Lowe can touch the paint, and he has quick hands/feet at the point of attack. What he did do, as the focal point of a high-major offense last season, was struggle with efficiency. This Wildcat team will have depth and talent across the board, but Lowe will need to take a step forward for Kentucky to reach their lofty goals.”

If Lowe can continue to gain some traction and end up being one of the best guards in the SEC, the Cats could be in for a special season. At the moment, it seems like it could be shaping up that way.
