The three-time Olympic relay champion shared the title with Duncan Scott in 1:45.08 at the Aquatics GB Swimming Championships in London in April and it was unclear who would join Matt Richards – preselected thanks to his silver in Paris – in the event in Singapore

However, it appears that Guy has been given the green light for the four-length event with World Aquatics having loaded the entries on the website. It will be Guy’s sole individual outing in Singapore despite his return to the 400 free this year.

Scott will focus on the 200IM in which he’s a two-time Olympic silver medallist, two years after he finished second behind Leon Marchand in Fukuoka. Tom Dean the Tokyo 200 free champion – will also contest the short medley despite saying at trials that he would concentrate on the relays.

Scott, Guy, Dean and Richards will also join forces for the 4×2 as the winning quartet reunite once more, two years after claiming the title at the 2023 edition a year after their historic victory at the Olympics.

Guy won the 200 free at the 2015 worlds ahead of Sun Yang and Paul Biedermann in a then British record of 1:45.14 and his PB lasted until Paris 2024 where he lowered it to 1:45.04 on the leadoff in the 4×2 prelims.

He returned for the 4×2, where he replaced Scott on the anchor leg, to steer the Great Britain quartet home as they claimed their first world title in the event.
