The debut of Jayden Quaintance is finally here.
According to KSR’s Jack Pilgrim, Quaintance will make his Kentucky Basketball in Atlanta on Saturday for their CBS Sports Classic matchup vs. Rick Pitino and the St. John’s Red Storm.

This makes the long-awaited return of one of the best defensive big men in college basketball after Quaintance became a standout true freshman last year at Arizona State, as a 17-year-old no less (he turned 18 this past July). It comes following a long road to recovery from ACL surgery in March.
Kentucky fans have been dreaming of the Cleveland native finally suiting up for the blue, while recalling past defensive anchors like Anthony Davis, Nerlens Noel, Willie Cauley-Stein, and even Bam Adebayo as they imagine what Quaintance could become.
The 6-9 center has the shot-blocking prowess of guys like Davis, Noel, and Cauley-Stein, while also possessing the ball-handling and passing of Adebayo.
His scoring abilities may be limited mostly to dunks and shots right at the rim, but make no mistake about it: Jayden Quaintance has the potential to become an All-American-level player for the Kentucky Wildcats.

But with only so much of this season left, it’s imperative that Quaintance get on the court sooner rather than later if he hopes to get comfortable in a new system and grow into the superstar Kentucky believes he’s capable of becoming.
Here’s to hoping that journey starts with a bang Saturday in Catlanta.
