Jedd Fisch framed Washington’s 38–10 win over Boise State as far more than a bowl victory. From the podium at SoFi Stadium, the Huskies head coach repeatedly returned to preparation, belief, and what the night revealed about the future of his program.

“I thought our team had a great week of preparation,” Fisch said. “They treated the game as we asked them to, which was a championship game…[a] championship opportunity.”
Washington backed that approach with one of its most complete performances of the season, pairing five touchdowns with five interceptions in what Fisch called a unique and telling combination. “Rarely do you get five touchdowns and five interceptions in the same game,” he said. “That was pretty cool to see.”
Fisch was especially excited about the youth driving the result. “We play with probably the most freshmen in all of college football,” he said. “Plays that were being made by guys were all young players. Players for the most part that all have eligibility left.”

At the center of that optimism is quarterback Demond Williams Jr., whom Fisch did not hesitate to praise. “When you have an elite quarterback, you’ve got a great opportunity to win a lot of games,” he said.
Asked again about his own future amid ongoing speculation, Fisch declined to widen the lens. “Yeah, I’m fully focused on our team,” he said. “Our team worked really hard this whole week…and we played at a very high level because of that.”
Instead, Fisch pointed ahead. “This group has a lot of promise to win a lot of games,” he said. “The plan is to be preparing to play next weekend.”
For Washington, the LA Bowl wasn’t a closing chapter. Fisch made sure of that.
