Jim Courier reveals who could break the dominance of Sinner and Alcaraz

by

The dominance of Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz continues and looks set to continue for many more weeks, months and years to come. The two of them are at the top of the ATP rankings.

Alcaraz is first with 11,050 points, while Sinner is second with 10,000. It is important to note that Alexander Zverev is in third place with 4,960 points, which is a huge difference compared to this duo.

Tennis fans are hoping that someone else will emerge on the tennis scene who can fight with them for the top of the rankings, but at the moment it seems that the two of them are untouchable.

Mark Pechey on the Tennis Channel shared his view of the tennis scene, saying that Sinner and Alcaraz have changed the way tennis is played today. An important characteristic of both tennis players is that they are adaptable, which also makes them superior to others.

Pechey went on to say that the break in the tennis scene will be an opportunity for others to analyze and summarize their impressions and understand what is important to do if they want to compete with them for the very top of the ATP rankings.

Jim Courier on two names that could ruin Sinner and Alcaraz's plans

Jim Courier highlighted two names that could be candidates to fight with Sinner and Alcaraz next year, and these are Jack Draper and Ben Shelton. It is difficult to really predict whether this duo will be able to raise their level and be as dominant as the Italian and Spanish tennis players, but it is certainly going to be an exciting year for tennis fans.

"Who’s going to get better? Is it Jack Draper, who played so well to win Indian Wells and then had bad injury problems. He’s been sitting out for much of the second half of the season. Is he going to be able to come out and be a force to be reckoned with next year? Maybe — we’ll see."- Courier said, as quoted by Tennis Up To Date.

As we pointed out, Ben Shelton is also one of the interesting names that Courier thinks could surprise. However, it is difficult to give real answers, but Courier is certainly looking forward to the next season with the hope that someone will be able to dethrone this duo.

"Is Ben Shelton, the guy who won the 'Best of the Rest' tournament in Canada, going to be the one to step through? We don’t know," Courier said.

"We might not — this might be a duopoly for a while. But we might get a couple of other players in the mix."
