Wrestling legend Jimmy Hart may have managed some of the biggest names in the business, but even “The Mouth of the South” wasn’t safe from theft this weekend — and now fans and police are on the case.
WrestleCade took to Twitter with a shocking announcement: someone stole Jimmy Hart’s signature megaphone during the convention. The incident reportedly happened on Saturday, and security footage will be reviewed by law enforcement.
“🚨 Someone stole Jimmy Hart’s megaphone at the convention yesterday. The venue has HD cameras and police will review the footage tomorrow. Jimmy isn’t looking to press charges — he just wants it back. If you took it, DM us. 12/2, the police investigation moves forward.”
While the 80-year-old manager isn’t seeking to press charges, the situation is serious. The venue has high-definition surveillance, and authorities are set to review footage on December 2. If the megaphone isn’t returned voluntarily, the case will move forward as a criminal matter.
The stolen item isn’t just any piece of fan gear — Hart’s megaphone has been his trademark since the 1980s, when he managed icons like Hulk Hogan, The Honky Tonk Man, and Bret Hart in WWE. Long before that, Hart built his name in Memphis wrestling during the 1970s, making a name for himself with a sharp voice and even sharper style..
Many fans called the theft disrespectful and pathetic, saying the person responsible should absolutely face consequences — even if Hart himself is willing to let it go. One fan called the act “pathetic” and said the thief should have charges pressed against them, while others expressed disbelief, sadness, and hope that the person gets caught or steps up to return it.
Jimmy Hart’s megaphone is more than just a prop — it’s a symbol of wrestling history. And while Hart may be willing to forgive, the fans definitely aren’t.
