Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Heavyweights beware!
It’s not a question of if, but when Olympic gold medalist and two-time NCAA Division I Heavyweight champion Gable Steveson enters the UFC. And when he does, UFC broadcaster Joe Rogan sees dark days ahead for the current Heavyweight division.

Steveson is currently 2-0 in mixed martial arts (MMA), absolutely demolishing both opponents. He needed only 24 seconds in his most recent outing to flatline his opponent — and even scored a takedown on an unconscious body (watch highlights).
It was that explosive knockout that caught Rogan’s attention and left him stunned.
“The heavyweight division is so devoid of talent,” Rogan said recently on his podcast. “Gable Steveson is the f—king guy. That’s the guy. He’s not even in the UFC yet. Olympic gold medalist, f—king freak athlete, 250 pounds, moves like a cat. He’s the guy.”
Rogan said he even sent a message to UFC CEO Dana White.

“I sent a text message to Dana White. I sent him a video of Gable’s last fight. I said, ‘Everyone’s f—ked when this guy comes out.’ He KO’ed this guy with a left hand and then took him down as he was knocked out. It’s f—king crazy. The speed that this guy has. First of all, he has really good striking already, and he’s only been striking for like a f—king year. Everyone’s f—ked,” Rogan concluded. “That kind of speed is nuts for a heavyweight.”
With the Heavyweight division widely considered the weakest it has been in over a decade, there’s a real chance Steveson enters the UFC and bulldozes his way through the rankings purely on the strength of his Olympic-caliber wrestling and rare athleticism.
But when is the inevitable UFC debut coming?
Steveson has teased several times that he wants to compete inside the Octagon and revealed that UFC matchmaker Mick Maynard was supposed to attend his last fight. For now, he says he’ll continue gaining experience until the call finally comes.
Until then, feel sorry for any regional Heavyweight who signs on the dotted line to face him.
