Joe Root on the Top 3 Podium in Test Cricket
English batsman Joe Root has reached a big milestone, as he surpassed the likes of former India head coach Rahul Dravid and former Proteas all-rounder Jacques Kallis’ record of most Test runs in their careers.
Rahul Dravid had 13288 and Kallis had 13289 runs in their Test careers; however, with the determination Root has shown to Test cricket, he reached the massive milestone in just 157* matches and 286 innings.
Joe Root, who is now batting in the India vs England fourth Test second innings at Manchester, scored 76* at the time of writing and is now just a few runs behind, surpassing Ricky Ponting to be the second-highest run-getter in Test cricket history.

Joe Root continues classic form against India
English batter Joe Root has continued his stunning form against India in the ongoing series, which marks the beginning of the ICC World Test Championship 2025-27 cycle for them. Joe Root has scored 328* runs already in the 7 innings he has played for England so far in the series.
Root has been making several significant contributions towards England’s success and was backed by the former Australian skipper Ricky Ponting to have the caliber to surpass the Test runs tally of the great Sachin Tendulkar.
If Root scores a hundred at Manchester, he would end the innings as the second-highest run getter in Test cricket with only Sachin Tendulkar ahead of him.
