Carlos Alcaraz thrilled the public with his victory at the last Australian Open. Thus, the 22-year-old Spaniard completed the career Grand Slam at the age of 22.

However, shortly after the Australian Open, Carlos Alcaraz decided to take a break and will not play in the tournament in Rotterdam.

Fans expect his masterful performances in the future, and he is already receiving praise.

Former American tennis player John Isner revealed on the Nothing Major Show that he had the opportunity to train with Carlos Alcaraz back in 2021.

The American tennis player revealed that Alcaraz was very excited to have the opportunity to train with him, but he immediately noticed that he had a talent that he had not seen before.

“I practiced with Carlos in Acapulco in 2021, so he was 17,” Isner said.

“He was ranked 160 and was a wildcard. We had a 5pm practice on Centre Court, it’s the Sunday before the tournament and it’s brutally hot.

I was hitting with a 17-year-old kid and I’m not making this up, he was so excited to hit with me. He was like this is awesome.

He was so good! I did tell my coach after that practice that he was going to be number one in the world because the ball just comes off his racket differently, even at 17 years old."

Water breaks: The 17-year-old played at a high level

John Isner ultimately stressed that the 22-year-old did not even take water breaks, even though it was extremely hot and difficult to play in such conditions.

Carlos Alcaraz kept a high pace and Isner seemed surprised where the 17-year-old got so much strength.

Isner, on the other hand, requested a time-out because he had to go to the bench to drink water, but even then he noticed that Alcaraz was a nice guy who had the potential to become world class.
