Jon Anik wants Michael Chandler and Conor McGregor at the White House – but not against each other.
Chandler (23-10 MMA, 2-5 UFC) recently teased that he will indeed welcome McGregor back at the UFC’s White House event, rumored for June 14. The pair have been linked to a bout since filming Season 31 of “The Ultimate Fighter” in 2023.

If it was up to UFC play-by-play commentator Anik, that fight never happens. He proposed two other names that he’d rather McGregor (22-6 MMA, 10-4 UFC) face.
“That fight does nothing for me,” Anik said of McGregor vs. Chandler on the “JAXXON PODCAST.” “I would love to see Conor McGregor back in the octagon and Michael Chandler always dons the stars and stripes of the United States of America, so I think he deserves to have a place on the White House card. But that matchup to me, it’s not a bout of consequence for me in the lightweight division. They’ll probably fight at f*cking 170. I just would rather see Conor fight Nate Diaz or Mauricio Ruffy or, I don’t know – somebody else.”
Former UFC dual-champion McGregor will look to return for the first time since July 2021 when he broke his leg in a TKO loss to Dustin Poirier. He was booked to face Chandler at UFC 303 in June 2024, but was forced out after breaking his pinky toe. He has not been scheduled for a fight since, but remains keen on competing at the White House event.
