Jon Jones trolls Tom Aspinall with horse wearing eye patch

by

Jon Jones couldn’t help but take a shot at Tom Aspinall in his first appearance at an event since UFC 321.

Jones, co-owner of Dirty Boxing Championship, made a grand arrival at the DBX 4 ceremonial weigh-ins, as did his business partner, BKFC’s King of Violence, Mike Perry. First, Perry and his wife arrived on the bed of a jacked-up truck with a few DBX ring girls. Not too far behind was Jones, who rode in on a white horse, also flanked by DBX ladies.

One didn’t have to look too hard to notice the dig at Aspinall, whom Jones refused to unify the UFC heavyweight title with, and instead opted for retirement after a long, drawn-out saga.

The horse was sporting an eye patch over its right eye, and Jones wanted everyone to notice the not-so-subtle dig at Aspinall, who had his eyes badly poked by Ciryl Gane in the main event of UFC 321, leading to a no contest.

“Gotta do it right,” Jones said about his grand entrance. “We got the beautiful horse with the eye patch on, we’re having a good night.”

It’s not the first shot Jones has thrown at Aspinall since getting his eyes gouged by Gane. After the event, Jones changed his social media profile avatar from a duck wearing a UFC title to a duck with an eye patch.

The duck came to be after Jones was accused of ducking Aspinall by avoiding a title unification bout. Jones didn’t help himself to beat those allegations after he said he would return to fight on the UFC White House card next year, all while dismissing Aspinall as a credible opponent.

As a side note, it’s pretty rich for Jones to find so much pleasure in Aspinall’s misfortune with an eye poke when he was a serial eye poker himself throughout his career.
