The Phillies placed reliever Jordan Romano on the 15-day injured list with right middle finger inflammation, brought up right-handers Daniel Robert and Lou Trivino from Triple-A Lehigh Valley and released pitcher Joe Ross after Monday night’s game.
The 30-year-old Robert has made 12 relief appearances this season and has a 5.79 ERA (6 ER, 9.1 IP) with 12 strikeouts to eight walks. Nine of his 12 appearances this year have been scoreless. He was reinstated from the 15-day injured list and optioned to Lehigh Valley on Aug. 17. His three appearances (2.1 IP) with the IronPigs since then have all been scoreless. Robert originally signed with the Texas Rangers as a non-drafted free agent on May 10, 2018, and was acquired by the Phillies in exchange for minor league pitcher Enrique Segura on April 30.
Trivino, 33, was signed by the Phillies as a minor league free agent on Aug. 4. He has thrown 7.0 scoreless innings with seven strikeouts across six appearances with Lehigh Valley, limiting opponents to a .208 batting average (5-24). Trivino began the 2025 campaign with the San Francisco Giants and in 37 combined appearances (2 starts) with the Giants and Los Angeles Dodgers this season, went 3-1 with a 4.42 ERA (19 ER, 38.2 IP) with 29 strikeouts against 13 walks.
A native of Green Lane, Pa., Trivino has spent parts of six major league seasons with the Oakland Athletics (2018-22), New York Yankees (2022), Giants (2025) and Dodgers (2025). He is 24-26 over 322 career appearances (3 starts) with a 3.92 ERA (141 ER, 323.1 IP) and 328 strikeouts. Trivino was originally selected by Oakland in the 11th round of the 2013 MLB Draft.
Romano, 32, has made 49 relief appearances for the Phillies this season and is 2-4 with an 8.23 ERA (39 ER, 42.2 IP) with 47 strikeouts to 17 walks. He has converted eight of his 11 save opportunities and 34 of his appearances have been scoreless. A native of Markham, Ontario, Canada, Romano was originally selected by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 10th round of the 2014 MLB Draft and was signed by the Phillies on Dec. 9, 2024.
Signed by the Phillies as a free agent on Dec. 23, 2024, Ross went 2-1 with a 5.12 ERA (29 ER, 51.0 IP) and 39 strikeouts to 18 walks in 37 games (1 start) for Philadelphia this season. The 32-year-old native of Berkeley, Calif., was originally selected by the San Diego Padres in the first round (25th overall) of the 2011 MLB Draft.
