LAS VEGAS – Joselyne Edwards met the media Saturday after her knockout win over Priscila Cachoeira at UFC on ESPN 72.

Edwards (16-6 MMA, 7-4 UFC) took out Cachoeira (13-7 MMA, 5-7 UFC) in the first round on the prelims at the UFC Apex. It was a finish that looked like it was inevitable for quite a bit before it happened with Cachoeira dropping her hands – and Edwards took advantage.

Edwards, from Panama, has won three straight fights and picked up her first UFC post-fight bonus for her finish Saturday. Things appear to be going in the right direction for the 29-year-old, who had a stretch of five fights in which she went 3-2, but missed weight in all three of the wins.

Now she has back-to-back first-round knockout wins less than four months apart following her April win over Chelsea Chandler – and she wants former flyweight title challenger Irene Aldana next.

“I’m not a loud mouth to give you (sound) bites for you to use,” Edwards said. “I’m someone that’s been very respectful, but I always wanted to fight (Aldana). “… I’m very happy about the work I’ve done. The weight’s going to be a very tedious thing to go through, but I was able to work through it and I’m very happy about it.”
