Josh Turner Commits to University of Nebraska-Omaha for 2026

Illinois native Josh Turner has announced his verbal commitment to swim for the University of Nebraska-Omaha beginning in the fall of 2026. Turner currently studies at Plainfield East High School in Illinois and trains with Delta Aquatics, where he specializes in freestyle and backstroke events.

Turner recently competed in the World Aquatics World Cup stop in Westmont. Turner posted a 56.72 in the 100-meter backstroke and a 26.46 in the 50-meter backstroke, both in short-course meters. Over the summer, Turner raced at the TYR Futures Championships, where he earned a 59.79 in the 100-meter backstroke, a 27.87 in the 50-meter backstroke, and a 2:13.70 in the 200-meter backstroke — all swum in long course meters.
