Spire Motorsports is parting ways with Justin Haley, who has driven the No. 7 Chevrolet since the late portion of the 2024 season, where he replaced Corey LaJoie.
Unfortunately, Haley struggled this year and fell behind his teammates. While Michael McDowell is 21st in points and Carson Hocevar 23rd, Haley is back in 31st. He has one top five and two top tens this year with an average finish of 22nd.
Back in 2019 in his first stint with the team, Haley actually earned Spire’s one and only Cup Series victory so far, winning a rain-shortened race at Daytona International Speedway. That unexpected triumph came in the team’s inaugural season and Haley’s second career start.

“This is a decision that was not taken lightly,” said Spire Motorsports co-owner Jeff Dickerson. “Justin has been a member of the Spire family since he was a teenager. We’ve watched Justin grow from a young driver trying to make his mark in the sport to a proven winner. He helped strengthen our organization into what it is today. He made us winners and returned home after forging his own path in the Cup Series. Justin is the embodiment of a true racer who has quietly become a respected competitor within the NASCAR garage and will be an incredible asset to his next team.”
Along with almost 180 starts at the Cup level, Haley is also a proven winner in the Xfinity and Truck Series. He has four Xfinity Series wins, and even made the Championship 4 in 2020. The 26-year-old has won Truck races as well, and also made the Championship 4 there in 2018.
While no replacement driver has been made, Spire has several options. For example, two-time race winner Daniel Suarez is still searching for a new home after five seasons with Trackhouse Racing and could be in the running for the seat.
