K-State (4-4, 3-2 Big 12) is coming off a 42-17 win over Kansas to extend its Sunshine Showdown winning streak to 17. Wildcats quarterback Avery Johnson passed for two touchdowns and ran for two.

Texas Tech (7-1, 4-1 Big 12) is ranked No. 15 in the nation, according to last week’s US LBM Coaches Poll. The Red Raiders rebounded from a 26-22 loss at No. 25 Arizona State by blowing out Oklahoma State 42-0. Red Raiders quarterback Will Hammond exited the game in the first half and will have an MRI to determine the extent of a knee injury.

The Wildcats have won the last eight matchups between the two, winning their most recent contest 38-21 in Lubbock, Texas, in 2023.
