Despite an up-and-down stretch as of late amid the prolonged absence of star guard Caitlin Clark, the Indiana Fever’s locker room was all smiles on Tuesday.
In a video shared on X by the Fever, coach Stephanie White gathered her players to deliver a brief announcement: guard Kelsey Mitchell had been named the WNBA’s Eastern Conference Player of the Week for Week 11 of the 2025 season.

In the clip, White congratulated Mitchell, who responded with, “I wouldn’t be here without y’all, so I appreciate y’all,” before a teammate replied, “We wouldn’t be here without you,” leading her teammates to erupt in laughter.
Kelsey Mitchell’s WNBA Career and 2025 Season
Mitchell, 29, is in her eighth WNBA season, all with Indiana since being drafted second overall in 2018 out of Ohio State.
Known as one of the league’s most consistent scoring guards, she entered Tuesday leading the WNBA in total points scored and tied for third in points per game (20.4).

She has already set a franchise record for most career 30-point games (11), surpassing Fever legend Tamika Catchings.

Notable performances: 38 points in an overtime win over Connecticut on Sunday, tying her career high and matching a franchise record; 34 points in a loss to the Los Angeles Sparks on Aug. 5; 35 points, six assists and three steals in a win over the Chicago Sky on July 27.
Mitchell’s scoring efficiency has been a key factor in keeping Indiana competitive (19-16, third in Eastern Conference) despite a roster hit hard by injuries, including Clark (groin) and season-ending injuries to Aari McDonald and Sydney Colson.

The WNBA recognized Mitchell for her performances from Aug. 12-18, during which she averaged 25.3 points, 5.7 assists, and 2.3 rebounds. Her week included:

This is Mitchell’s fourth career Player of the Week award and her second of the season. She joins Catchings (11) and Katie Douglas (4) as the only Fever players with at least four such honors.
