Indian wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav has finally shared a fun inside story about what really happens when his DRS call goes wrong, and it perfectly shows the bond he shares with his former captains and senior batting superstars Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.
Kuldeep Yadav shares behind-the-scenes DRS moments with Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli
Kuldeep said that both Rohit and Virat are like his elder brothers on the field. Because of that, he knows exactly when he has messed up with an overexcited DRS appeal during India matches. Interestingly, when a review fails, Kuldeep’s best move is silence.
Recently, the Chinaman bowler revealed that whenever he feels the review has been taken wrongly and the batter is actually not out, he quietly walks away from the scene. Instead of facing Rohit and Kohli at that time on the field, Kuldeep tries to escape without being noticed.
Your daily dose of cricket!
Kuldeep Yadav said at an event, “Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are like elder brothers to me. During DRS, when I feel that DRS is taken wrong and the opposition player is not out, I quietly walk away from there.”

Kuldeep Yadav’s DRS drama turns into Rohit–Kohli comedy show
This habit has created some of the funniest moments on the field. Kuldeep is known for appealing almost every ball, fully convinced the batter is out. But Rohit Sharma usually stops him in his tracks. The former Indian captain often laughs, while many times he firmly but jokingly tells Kuldeep to calm down and focus on bowling rather than asking for DRS again and again.
On the other hand, Virat Kohli reacts in his own dramatic style. Many times, the former Indian captain simply refuses Kuldeep’s request. At times, he tilts his head in disbelief, sometimes shows shock, and sometimes jokingly acts like he will slap him, all in good fun.
Kuldeep Yadav’s form becomes a big concern for India
Meanwhile, India may already have sealed a 3-0 lead in the ongoing five-match T20I series against New Zealand, but the scoreline is quietly hiding a worrying trend. Two of India’s main spin weapons, Kuldeep and Varun Chakravarthy, are yet to find their rhythm ahead of the T20 World Cup 2026.
Kuldeep has played two matches and picked up two wickets, but there was no impact. Instead of troubling batters, the wrist-spinner has been expensive, giving away close to ten runs an over. In one match alone, three of his overs went for 32 runs.
Even in the recent ODI series, Kuldeep managed only three wickets in three matches and leaked runs at over seven an over, showing that his form has now become a big worry for the Men in Blue. He would have no hope of regaining his form in the remaining two games before the T20 World Cup 2026.
On the other hand, Varun Chakravarthy played in two high-scoring games where New Zealand crossed 190 and 208, where his sharpness and mystery were missing. He was rested for the third T20I to help him recover and reset. Now, India will hope both spinners rediscover their bite before the showpiece event at home.
