The Tigers placed right-hander Kyle Finnegan on the 15-day injured list with a right adductor strain on Friday. Outfielder Parker Meadows was reinstated from the 10-day IL to fill the roster spot and will start in center against the White Sox.
The team said Finnegan’s injury is mild, and it’s optimistic he’ll be able to return by end of the regular season.
Acquired at the Trade Deadline from the Nationals, the 34-year-old reliever has not allowed a run in 12 appearances, allowed just three hits while striking out 19.
