The Ohio State women’s basketball team overcame a sloppy start to beat Norfolk State 79-45 at the Jerome Schottenstein Center on Dec. 18.

The Buckeyes‘ first made basket came just over four minutes into the game. Point guard Jaloni Cambridge already had three turnovers by then, but she also scored Ohio State’s first seven points.

Cambridge ended her night with 11 points, eight rebounds and had just two additional giveaways. Kylee Kitts led the Buckeyes with 13 points on 6-of-12 shooting and recorded 10 boards.

There were seven Buckeyes who scored at least 8 points, including Seini Henry, whose 8 points represented a career high.

The OSU bench accounted for 39 points and was largely on the court in the fourth quarter when the Buckeyes held the Spartans to 7. Ohio State’s defense recorded 16 steals.

Ohio State is now 10-1 and will take on Western Michigan at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, December 22. Norfolk State dropped to 5-9 on the year.
