Pittsburg girls basketball picked up a 61-13 win over Stuart Monday night to cap off the regular season.
The Lady Panthers finished the regular season 20-4 and ranked number two in class B2 while the Lady Hornets ended with an 11-14 record.

Both teams will head to the Area tournament this Friday. Pittsburg will host Tupelo and Stuart will host Indianola.
The Lady Panthers set the tone early in the game.
Paige Barron scored the first bucket of the game on a layup 49 seconds into the contest. Pittsburg followed that up with two 3-point makes, one from Tabrey Powell and one from Gwen Robinson to go up 8-0 with six minutes remaining in the first.
Taylynn Conder connected on a layup to push the lead to 10-0 and Stuart called for timeout. Out of the timeout, the Lady Panthers continued their offensive and defensive stronghold and finished the first period on a 15-0 run and led 25-0 going into the second.

Barron led the scoring charge in the quarter for Pittsburg with 15 points on three treys.
The start of the second quarter saw a continuation of the first as Conder and Powell hit layups within the first minute and a half of the period to go up 29-0. Conder then went 1-for-2 from the free throw line to give the Lady Panthers a 30-0 lead.
Kyla Bear got Stuart on the board with a trey at the 4:12 mark, which left Stuart trailing 30-3. From there, Pittsburg outscored the Lady Hornets 4-2 and the score was 34-5 at the halftime break.
Barron started off the second half for Pittsburg by scoring on a floater two minutes into the quarter to go up 36-5. Taibree Melton then hit two free throws and Barron had back-to-back trips to the line in which she connected on all four free shots as well.

The Lady Panthers led 51-7 at the end of the third. Pittsburg was perfect from the charity stripe in the quarter, going 9-for-9.
Scoring for both teams was quiet in the final quarter as the Lady Panthers outscored the Lady Hornets 10-6 and won the game 61-13.
Barron led all scorers with 21 points in the game. Conder had 16 points. Powell scored 7.
As a team, Pittsburg hit seven 3-pointers in the game.
For Stuart, Kyla Bear scored 7, Kacyn Whitaker had 3 and Reagan Dominic scored 2 points.
Pittsburg begins the area tournament 6 p.m. Friday at home against Tupelo. Stuart plays its first game of the playoffs 6 p.m. Friday at home against Indianola.
