Lady Purple Tigers roar past Monterey

WATERTOWN — Watertown’s girls got off to a fast start Monday night and never looked back in a 60-29 triumph over Monterey.

The Lady Purple Tigers scored the first 12 points and went up 17-1. Bryley Bowers’ transition layup made it 25-6 at the first-quarter break.

Three free throws with less than a second remaining in the first half by Julianna Pruitt put the Lady Purple Tigers up 47-12 by halftime.

The Lady Tigers led 55-19 going into the fourth as Watertown pulled even at 3-3 for the season.

Macie Brelje led the Lady Tigers with 18 points while Izzie Burns had 10, all in the first half with eight in the first period. Bowers and Molly Followill each finished with six points, Dailey Hight and Maddie Willard five apiece, Julianna Pruitt and Maggie Pearson four apiece and Tatum Estes two free throws.

Mackenzie Vester led the Lady Wildcats with 14 points.

Watertown will remain at home to host Gordonsville at 6 p.m. Friday. The Lady Tigers’ Tuesday game against Livingston Academy has been moved to Dec. 15 with the road game moved to Jan. 9.

Lady Wildcats roll past Greenbrier

GREENBRIER — Wilson Central had little trouble with host Greenbrier on Monday night as the Lady Wildcats rolled to a 69-40 win.

The Lady Wildcats led 25-17 after one quarter, 39-22 at halftime and 58-28 through three periods.

Brylee Fly led the Lady Wildcats with 14 points and eight rebounds in the post. Point guard Freedom Pfeil finished with 12 points, five assists and five steals. Kylie Moss managed 10 points on two 3-pointers as well as five rebounds and four assists. Olivia Kinning notched nine points, Ellie Ramsey six, Alexis Jackson five, Sophia Cooper and Kiley Jo Byrom a 3-pointer apiece; Annie Wilson, Riley Mirghavami and Callie Mirghavami three apiece and Kiaya Seats a free throw.

Wilson Central will host Antioch at 6 p.m. Friday.
