Tennessee senior guard Ruby Whitehorn was named to the Ann Meyers Drysdale Shooting Guard of the Year Preseason Top 20 Watch List, the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame announced on Tuesday.
Whitehorn started 28-of-34 games in her first season with the Lady Vols and averaged 11.6 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.7 assists. She recorded a .463 field goal percentage, .298 three-point percentage and a .735 free throw percentage during the 2024-25 season.

Whitehorn scored 10-plus points 23 times, and scored 15 or more points 12 times last season. She also totaled 20-plus points three times.
The 6-foot guard scored 21 points in games against LSU and Texas last season. She has totaled over 1,000 points in her career.
Prior to transferring to Tennessee, Whitehorn played two seasons for Clemson, where she was named to the ACC All-Freshman Team during the 2022-23 season. She was also named to the All-Tournament Team at the Paradise Jam.
The award is named in honor of Ann Meyers Drysdale, who played at UCLA and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1993. She was the first player in women’s and men’s basketball to be named All-America for four consecutive seasons.
