Lady Vols basketball road matchup with Ole Miss rescheduled for Feb. 17

by

Lady Vols basketball will play its road matchup against Ole Miss on Feb. 17, Tennessee announced Jan. 30.

No. 15 Tennessee (14-4, 6-1 SEC) was originally slated to play the No. 17 Rebels (17-4, 4-2) at SJB Pavilion on Jan. 26, but the matchup was postponed due to inclement weather in the region that left icy conditions in Oxford, Mississippi. The game will tip off at 7 p.m. ET on ESPNU.

That means the Lady Vols will play four games in an eight-day span. They’ll face Missouri on Feb. 12, Texas on Feb. 15, Ole Miss on Feb. 17 and Texas A&M on Feb. 19.

Ole Miss, which had an open date on Feb. 8, will also be playing four games in that span. The Rebels will face four straight ranked opponents – Kentucky, Tennessee, LSU and South Carolina.

Lady Vols coach Kim Caldwell said Jan. 28 that the game would be rescheduled, and that it was “going to be a rough next month” for Tennessee.

The rescheduled road game breaks up what was slated to be a three-game homestand for the Lady Vols, who will host Missouri, Texas and Texas A&M.

Tennessee dropped its first game of conference play with a 77-62 loss to Mississippi State on Jan. 29. The Lady Vols were the last team standing undefeated in SEC play and they’re now tied for second in the conference with Vanderbilt.
