The final WWE SmackDown before SummerSlam 2025 is set to deliver a loaded card, and now another big match has been confirmed for the Newark, New Jersey crowd.
WWE announced Friday that Jimmy Uso will go one-on-one with Talla Tonga on the August 1 episode of SmackDown, just one night before the company kicks off its first-ever two-night SummerSlam premium live event at MetLife Stadium.
From WWE’s official preview: “Jimmy Uso battles Talla Tonga on the SmackDown before SummerSlam. Jimmy Uso goes head to head with Talla Tonga tonight at 8 ET/7 CT on USA.”
This adds even more intrigue to a card that already includes some major names and championship matches. Here’s the updated lineup for WWE SmackDown on August 1, 2025:
- Jimmy Uso vs Talla Tonga
- Damian Priest vs Aleister Black
- Giulia (c) vs Zelina Vega – WWE Women’s U.S. Title
- Los Garza (c) vs TBA – AAA Tag Title Open Challenge
