AEW has added a last-minute bout to tonight’s February 18 episode of Dynamite — and it involves one of the company’s top champions.
Just hours before the show goes live, Tony Khan announced that AEW Continental Champion Jon Moxley will compete in a Continental Title Eliminator match against Mark Davis.
According to the announcement, the match comes on the heels of Moxley retaining his championship at Grand Slam Australia. Now, he’ll face Davis, who is seeking payback after Moxley previously interfered in his tag team title opportunity. The official announcement reads:
“Wednesday Night #AEWDynamite 8/7c, TONIGHT! AEW Continental Title Eliminator @JonMoxley vs @DUNKZILLADavis. After Mox retained the title going the distance at Grand Slam Australia, TONIGHT he fights dangerous Mark Davis, who wants payback for Mox meddling in his Tag Title shot!”
An eliminator match means that if Davis scores an upset victory over Moxley, he would earn a future AEW Continental Championship match. With Moxley’s reputation for physical, hard-hitting battles, this late addition instantly raises the stakes for tonight’s show.
Updated February 18 AEW Dynamite lineup now includes:
- MJF and Hangman Adam Page face-to-face
- Kenny Omega vs. Swerve Strickland
- AEW TBS Championship: Willow Nightingale (c) vs. Megan Bayne vs. Marina Shafir vs. Mina Shirakawa
- The Brawling Birds debut
- Jon Moxley vs. Mark Davis – AEW Continental Title Eliminator
